The material will not mold to up or down, its texture is soft and not straw at all.

I really like my hat. It is very comfortable. It looks and feels great too. I've only had it a short time but I've already been complimented on it. I'm looking forward to buying a few more hats, once I find just the right ones, because I am pretty particular about the styles I wear.
