They are exactly what I expected. I could wish for a little more padding in the sole, but there wasn't a model with both more padding and the higher ankle. They wash beautifully, my cheapo fakes left clouds of black lint in every wash, the real Gold Toe only left a little lint even in the first wash. If you want a sock for all-around use that doesn't fade or lose it's shape, this is it.
