I wanted men's wool socks. I believe I got a mixture that was more suited to hospital compression socks. Most unhappy. I am 86 and work 5 days a week. I wanted comfortable wool socks to keep my legs warm. I maintain our six story buildings, climb on roofs as needed etc. Long wool socks up to my knees would have been fine.

I buy the new version but they aren't as good as the old version. Yet, I am not sure there is anything better to buy in a wool dress sock.

Although the Windsor Wool socks appear to be the same as those I have purchased for years in department stores, they are not. The ribbing is slightly different which is not as important as the lack of overall elastic support in previous sock purchases. Perhaps the quality of the real Windsor Wool sock is no more.

A very good wool blend sock. These are dressy, a good height, perfect for business attire. They're warm enough for wintertime shoe wear and are not so thick they crowd your shoes like some thicker wool socks. I got what I needed.

The product appears to be well made, but I regret buying them due to the unforgiving tightness of the elastic band (upper one inch of the sock) on my leg. They are simply too tight on my lower calf!
