Rain resistant, durable

Good stitching and a wire rim make the hat quite durable. Initially it has very good rain resistance, but you'll need to periodically rub on new oil as it breaks down in the sun and rain. I didn't want a drawstring but it was easy to remove. My two biggest complaints are that after several years the crown dents don't hold their shape well and the satin lining delaminates from the canvas, making it a bit floppy. My current one has seen heavy use for ten years and only recently has it gotten ratty enough to make me think about replacing it.
Henschel 5346 hat

I first purchased a 5346 at an airport vendor's shop. After many years of use it had become pretty well sweat stained, but otherwise was in near perfect condition. Rather than have it cleaned, I decided to buy another. I'll go back when this 5346 has more 'character' than I like.

I found the hat to be very high quality in it's craftsmanship and materials. It has a lining and good quality chinstrap. I recommend American made Henschel hats to anyone.
