I purchased this lid as an everyday replacement for a supplex nylon Ultimate hat (their Tropical). Ultimate doesn't make that hat in the US any longer, so I had a look at Henschel. This is a good hat. It's primary fabric is polyester and so is not as robust as the nylon, but it has the interesting feature of a narrow band of "screen" instead of grommets. I believe that this feature offers a better circulation inside the hat and too, is not so obvious that it detracts from the "basicness" of the hat.This hat also sports a fine brim, slightly longer fore-and-aft. It really offers quite good shade.Overall, the Henschel 5555 is a good everyday hat, offering a lightweight, breathable covering for the burnable bits. Made in Vietnam.
