They are 95% bamboo and 5% spandex.

BEST SOCKS EVER October 25, 2011

First, a warning. The bamboo fabric is so smooth that on similar smooth surfaces such as a polished hardwood floor you can go skating. Likes: The socks are light, tough, extremely comfortable, and feel very clean. Moreover, they look good , somewhat like silk socks. One other thing. I discovered because of their smoothness,it allows my feet to slip easily into the boots. Usually, cotton socks snag while putting on boots, making it more difficult to slip into and out of above the ankle boots.Also, compared to their cotton equivalents, they stay up all day long.

I took a chance on these as the description stated that they'd be excellent for controlling heat and moisture, which is a problem I suffer from when wearing dress shoes. They were a cheaper alternative to merino wool, which is something I'd read quite a bit about.The best way to say this: I'm never going back to cotton or whatever I was wearing before. These are pretty amazing. They work as advertised. My feet are cool all day, no moisture, no odor. Perfect.Or, nearly perfect. I did notice some thread stretching and separation in the toes if I pulled the socks tight - one of the socks developed a hole the first time I wore it. A word of caution then - give yourself a little bit of room in the toe. I haven't had any problems since.

These are soft, breatheable and light weight. I just started wearing a calf height orthotic on my right leg and needed to find good calf height socks that didn't cost me that "arm & leg." These work for me.
