The Merino Sweater Coat is knitted elegance! Patagonia's soft merino wool sweater coat has a tall neck, princess seams, a button placket, and a mid-thigh length. It is knit in soft 5-gauge 100% merino wool and this elegant merino wool coat has a basket-weave stitch. The coat has a funnel neck for added warmth that opens to lie flat across your shoulders. This coat has a front placket with a button closure and a foldover cuff at the sleeve. There are handwarmer pockets on the front princess seams. This sweater coat falls to mid-thigh and has a slim fit. It weighs (22 oz) 624 g.

I absolutely love this sweater coat, it's warm and offers a slimming and flattering fit. I wear it alone on milder days as a coat or with the outer shell of my Patagonia Tres Parka on cold days. I have it in black and grey, did not like the bordeaux very much as it is more red and not the beautiful purple wine color I was hoping it was. This coat is 100% Merino wool and really is so super warm and of great quality.

Take care when you wash it!! Gentle/hand wash in cold, because of the wool. Then flat dry. The wool is so amazingly soft and it's really a high end sweater made by a gear lover brand. I have two and I found out the hard way last year about how to care for it. I hope they always make these because they truly are perfect for just about anything from out to dinner to cuddling up at home on the sofa.
