Stretch-polyester outer face is durable, stretchy and resists wind, it's also soft and comfortable, two hand pockets are lined with brushed mesh and offset shoulder seams for comfort while wearing a pack. Exterior is treated with DWR to shed moisture and light snow, inside pocket is lined with brushed mesh and closes with a zipper and cuffs feature thumb-holes to ensure total wrist coverage. The fit feels really nice and it is soft on the interior and the fabric stretches nicely. I am a little wide hipped so I like the extra roominess. This is a great outer layer in spring and under layer for harsh winter days. The pockets are a neat design. You don't have to unzip to put your hands in the zipper is inside the pocket. However I don't love the mesh design of the pockets. I prefer solid pockets and wish Patagonia would go back to solid pockets in more of their gear. If you put a pair of wet gloves in the pocket it will get your undershirt wet. Or imagine a snotty kleenex shedding through the mesh. Also the mesh material could easily be sliced or caught and ripped. But this jacket reminds me most of my very first patagonia jacket that was teal blue with a fuzzy inside. I hope patagonia decides to change their pocket designs. Mesh pockets are good for swim gear and hot weather gear. But not for winter jackets.
