This short is 4 oz., 3-ply laundered 100% Supplex® nylon with an adjustable tab waist band and a gusseted crotch. Double seat, front slash pockets, and zip secure front pocket. Has hook & loop secure front & back storage pockets with Royal Robbins label at back hip, and a 5" seam.

Love this short so much. Live on the coast and hike as well as kayak and it works fabulously for both. Quick drying and lots of pockets for gadgets that need a home. Appreciate the variety of color, wish they came in a royal blue and cherry red as well. Keeping my fingers crossed. Sizing is right on target.

Favorite hiking/walking shorts August 29, 2011

Have a curvy body so its hard to find shorts that fit well. these do the trick. Not only do they fit well but also they are comfortable for walking in the heat (my legs dont chafe like they do it other shorts) but also, the nylon makes them great for AZ hiking! The shorts slide when touch rock rather then cotton shorts that don't. I have worn the same 2 pairs for several years and am buying more because I love them so much.

The Backcountry shorts are my favorites because they are lightweight and perfect for hot and humid summers. If they get wet, they dry fast. Plenty of pockets to carry items. I'd been wanting a pair in gray and was pleased to see this color finally offered. It's more of a bluish-gray rather than a true gray, thus the 4-star rating.

I have been purchasing this short in several colors every summer for the past 4 YEARS. I love the way these shorts fit, as well as being able to wear them to participate in the gym, hiking, and water sports.
