I have been looking to replace a simple checkbook cover that I bought years ago in Italy. It was soft leather and was so well-made and handsome. It was designed to be thin and hold only my checkbook & register. After fifteen years it needed replace. I have looked for three months for the perfect replacement. I even wrote to the firm in Florence that had made the one I owned---out of business. I went to Coach and they had nothing that was as honest and perfect as what I was looking for. But online I found the Scully line and it was just what I was looking for. And Shoebuy.com had the right color and the best price. I good for the next 15 years---thanks!

The reason I purchased this cover was it held the checks and checkbook register. Most other covers don't allow for a register and/or have credit card holders which I didn't want (that's what I have a wallet for).

I wanted a checkbook cover, without all the extra little compartments and that is what this is. Very soft leather. I got one for both my husband and me. The only improvement that I could think of for this cover would be if the front flap corners were reinforced with metal. My old one was made like that and it has lasted probably fifteen years. I recommend this one highly.
