I love these colorful socks and the best thing about then is that they keep my feet comfortable and dry in all kinds of weather. Also the tops are not too tight on my legs.

I've worn this style in the past and love the light weight, wool blend, beautiful bands of color, and good fit. They're comfortable to wear and the colors don't fade. The only con is that they wear out above the heel, even though I have been wearing them in shoes open in the back! A friend has had the same experience with the sock wearing out above the heel. Still, I haven't found any other wool sock that feels better on the foot. I like the durable quality of Thorlo wool socks but they're drab and the elastic is too tight at the ankle.

The Smartwool Margarita socks are soft and feel good under my feet. This is not a thick sock, nor super thin, but provides good warmth without overheating. This is not a padded sock. I wear size 9 shoes and have the Margarita in both sizes medium and large. I prefer the large and they aren't too big. There is a bit of shrinkage after machine washing and drying.The elastic at the top is a little tighter than I prefer, but not terribly uncomfortable. There is a seam at the toe, on the top. It isn't too thick, but a super sensitive person could have an issue, depending on the shoe fit.
