Nice beige tweedy heather color, looks great with brown sneakers of boots, when you do not want wool. I got the medium beige, not the darker brown, and I am happy with that. I saw the darker brown in a store and, for me, they were too dark. But...if you want them for brown boots or sporty shoes, though, then the darker would probably be great. I use them with my Merrill sneakers, which are Medium brown. They are as thick as athletic socks, but not too thick like those socks with very thick bottoms or a lot of extra cushioning. I am very satisfied and I did buy 3 more pairs.

Wanted a calf-length tan or khaki athletic sock. Very hard to find non-white. These fill the bill. Not cheap but high quality. Too soon to know how well they will wear.
